Christo van Eck

Christo van Eck (CA SA) is the Co-founder and Managing Partner at Launch Africa Ventures, the Cape Town-headquartered pan-African early-stage venture capital platform with portfolio offices in Lagos (Nigeria) and Nairobi (Kenya) that manages the $75M Launch Africa Fund I (2020 vintage), $120M Launch Africa Fund II (2023 vintage), and the $30M Launch Africa Founders Club pre-accelerator programme, with LP backing from Endeavor Catalyst, Allan Gray / Orbis, the IFC, FMO, and two Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed pension fund cornerstones. A Stellenbosch University BCom Honours graduate, SAICA-qualified Chartered Accountant (CA SA), Deloitte TMT Corporate Finance alumnus, and Founders Factory Africa Head of Southern Africa (2016–2019) before founding Launch Africa Ventures in 2019 with a dual South Africa–Nigeria corridor thesis.
